I remember tamarind balls from when I was a child tagging along to the shop with my mom.
There were always small bagsof them sitting by the register when we went up to pay. I always begged my mom to pleeeease get my some. They were my favorite and not something I could get very often. They are sweet, sour, and the perfect level of chewy.
Their base is a tropical fruit called tamarind. They are basically a combination of tamarind, sugar, maybe flour, and some salt and pepper. When you bite into them there is a seed inside.
I’ve never made them at home but will update you all when I attempt! I welcome any tips : )
