Ahh, Jamaican hard dough bread. It is just SO GOOD. And dangerous. Because it it is so doughy and a tad sweet that you just want more. Lightly toasted with butter? Wow. Though I have wondered if having one slice is like having 4 slices of regular bread since it is so dense. I probably should ignore those thoughts so I can still enjoy it.
Hard dough bread is an everyday item but for special occasions such as Easter we get a special large rounded loaf from the bakery to have with our fried fish on Good Friday. It is not something my parents grew up making but am excited to try making it myself.
